Fabric Flower Tutorial

This is the first tutorial I make and I hope it's understandable enough. The idea I saw in a japanese craft magazine (Cotton & Paint) and here is the original image. For better view and explanation, click on the images below. They are linked to my new Flickr . If you don't wanna leave this blog, stop the cursor over each image to see descriptions.

Material needed.Tracing circles on wrong side of fabric.

Cut several circles, about 2 inches round.Fold the fabric circles like this...

Gather all the circles together, using thread and needle. It should look like this...

Pull the thread, sew edges together, organize the petals.Attach the button of your choice right in the middle.

More fabric flower tutorials? You might wanna take a look over here , here, here, here, here, here and here for great ones! Phew! Thanks Google, you make my life easier! Ha! Just bookmark them and have fun! You can make hair pins, brooches and decorate all sorts of projects with fabric flowers! I have another tutorial for a different fabric flower (also from japanese designers) and I will post it later...actually the list of tuts grows longer every day, I just need to organize my time at home, as always!

Hi Zee, Your tutorial is awesome and so is your flower. I adore the ladybug in the center. I'll have to make some of these and add them to my scrap kits. Your photos below are also gorgeous. You are very creative!! xoxo

You are fabulous and I can tell you are a great mother!!! I work in a school and love the lunch bag idea. Your crafts are very creative. I just spent an hour looking at all your photos. I too, love to take flower photography. I have just done a grouping of pear tree blossoms, every couple of days and all the changes! I love spring! Also when I was in Sedona took a shadow pic similar to yours. Just thought you would like to know how you have brightened my day. God Bless, Cindy in KS
