It's been a while and it was good! Right now it's raining a lot, we got the first snow, a tiny bit and it's super cold!!! It's finally saturday. These days were really busy. My workspace is taking shape. We got shelves in the closet, pegboard on the wall, new rug, new chair...I just don't know if I wanna paint the walls. Maybe. Blue or acqua would be the choice, but I like the way it is now - very light ivory.

These last months I had to rethink my time, my priorities in life and it's working good. Making things, showing them for you is important, because make me feel more productive, creative, keeps me sane. Being a stay at home mom is hard work. As you know, a 24/7 job, and no days off at all. The routine can bring me sadness or even a little bit of depression, imagining that I could be working on something really cool, attending classes somewhere... but the coolest thing is happening now and sometimes I get lost, sometimes I just forget about it!!! This statement is going personal. I planned to do not bring personal wisperings here, but (oooh, it's snowing really good out there!!!!!) is not easy, right? Well, my children are the most important for me and they deserve the best. They love my attention, they love when I play with them. There will be a time that I will be by myself in this house. I am learning to organize my time now, to appreciate every moment. It's satisfying to make things for the house, to give attention to my family, to see my home the way I wanted. One day, my children won't be here anymore. I will be old. They will grow up. I will miss this time now, little toes, baby faces, funny things they say...

Yes, I wasn't in the mood for blogging at all. I rather take brakes than just delete my domain like I used to do sometime ago...

Mr. M. came home with a gift for our bed. We don't know the quilter's name, but she offered it at my husband's work. He thought that I would like it too. I did. I just regret buying that greenish bedding, it's ugly...ugh! I don't find much reasonable (for us) prices on california king size beddings. Next time, I might get something from here.

Quilt

Later, I got curious to know what fabric combination she used to make this quilt. It wasn't difficult to discover them online. Just a few clicks! She made it with Shangri-la, by 3 Sisters for Moda Fabrics. I loved it. Sadly or luckly, here in town we have only 3 fabric shops. One is owned by a local resident and they have Moda, I did not resist bringing home a jelly roll for my next sewings. I am pretty tempted to make a quilt one of these days. That day in the store, they had a class for Bernina users. They also teach quilting and machine embroidery...I wonder if one day I will be able to attend any of those classes!!!

Shangri-la

I wrote this post on Saturday, but I did not have the time to finish it with the images...today is Sunday!!!

Welcome back Zee!
Happy to hear from you and that you are doing fine.
I can understand why you are going through these feelings. I don`t have any kids myself but I have been thinking about some of the things that you are having "issues" with. I once made a statement that you can`t do your best if you are seen two different places. If I had children i also would have made the choice to stay home 100% of the time. At least for the first 2 years.
However I can feel your sadness about missing out, that you now and then feel a little bit depressed. I think that is normal to be honest. Ofcourse you would love to be there for your kids, you want to be the best mom in the world, but you also need to do some things just for you. What do they have if their mom isn`t totally happy? They will feel it right away you know.
Why don`t you attend a class or do something just for you once or two times a week? Maybe you will feel more productive or creative, to experience something totally different from looking after your children all day. I will not tell you what to do, but I just want to share my thought.

I really like your new quilt, love the colours!! And I do agree, i really do think the ivory colour is very nice. And a very good contrast to all the dark. You have a lot of dark coloured decorations in the room, and maybe a light colour on the wall will make it look fresh? A light blue or green would have been a lovely choice!!
Yes, you know how much I love the fresh look :))

Oh my, I have a lot of opinion today haven`t I? Well, I just mean it in a good way :)
I wish you happy days Zee and I hope you will make choices that`s best for you.

Hug from Aina

Zee, i'm so glad you are back to blogging and your creations are beautiful. yes, it is very hard staying home. i have 2 boys and another one on the way...I have the same feelings but it is important to get away and have your own time. maybe once a week or once a month. It's important to feel like you still have your own persona and are your own intelectual.

The quilt is beautiful, thank you for sharing your talents with all of us!

Hi Zee,
The quilt is really a lovely piece. I was thinking baout start quilting too, but to be honest, I 'm not sure if I would be that patient.
I understand that you want to spend some time with your kids now, while they are little. If I had kids I would want to be part of every moment of them.
Anyway, it is great to have another nice post from you. Oh, and I am glad that your gift made it all the way there safe and sound.

I think we all can get a little bit led astray by the idea that we can "have it all". The truth is that we give something up for everything we choose. The thing to do is know yourself and choose what's best for you. You are right about your kids. They will grow up right before your eyes.. I love that you don't want to miss it.
