My time...

Howdie!

Let me share something very personal, very feminine and I will share this because it can be inspiring for other women suffering from the same crap...I don't think I have male readers, my husband probably pick on my blog sometimes when I am not looking! If you are a man, delurk now, it's your chance!

Well, this is suppose to be the "pms" week. In fact it is. Amazingly after several months struggling with all sorts of cramps, aches (all over the body), migraines, emotional imbalance, sleepiness, this is the first time that I am feeling fine. Ok, maybe a bit earlier to jump and commemorate my goal, but so far I can't complaim. I started exercizing last week and I also got a great body massage on Monday (will repeat it this Friday). I cut sodas from my diet last month and they are not allowed in this home anymore. Red meat once or twice a week. I used to drink diet coke a lot in the past. Oh my goodness, I am sleeping well. I am trying to treat this annoying problem (yes, it became a big problem in my life) as natural as I can, because we go see doctors and they listen to our complaims for 10 minutes and they might prescribe those pills for depression but hey...I am fine for half month! I am not against medications or doctors, don't get me wrong...but let me try this way for a bit?! I had to choose: or I start a better diet and exercise for good or I will have to take those pills. I did once for a few months, after my first baby birth and I turned into a cold heart. Doesn't matter how sad an event was, I would be smiling! I just wanna be myself at this time. I don't want medications like that ruling my life unless is very necessary.

Today I wanted to skip the gym. I was so sleepy in the morning and my body is aching a little bit because all these muscles are moving and stretching...they are probably screaming to stop, but I won't. I will be persistent. It's hard sometimes. I was never a couch potato, but living with kids and being at home all the time, we get used to it. It's much easier to sit down and let it go.

Yesterday I had yoga and spinning and wow...there were ladies like 20 years oder than I and they were doing great! Someone in my family, it happens to be my grandpa's sister (the only one alive of the 14 kids my great grandma had - I don't know how she did that!!! Haha, they did not have a tv or computer!) is turning 103 next January. She practiced yoga and lap swimming almost her entire life. She is living forever!! I must add that she has no health problems at all, I mean heart disease, or diabetics, etc... The same applies to my grandma. She would never eat pizza, too much pasta, cakes (once in a while), sugar cookies and sodas...never! She always cooked her own meals (lots of vegetables) and she is 94 this September. Of course there are other factors for longevity, but I bet that they did pretty well in the past and now they can have a long life. I wanna get old, but I wanna get there healthy.

I've been searching for some good readings for encouragement and I want to learn better about food, a bit of holistic health, I took a trip to the organic/natural/eco friendly grocerie store and I came home with some teas, cerals...and hopefully everything will be all right!

Yoga is so very good. You should give it a try!

If you have any experience to share, drop your message.

Because I love photos on my posts...these are not new, but I like the bright results and the cheerful colors. Have a great end of week!!!

Pixie Blossoms at Redbubble

I discovered this site a few weeks ago and I am loving it. It works just like Imagekind, but I like it better. You can socialize with other members and at the same time sell your art work (photos, paintings and graphic designs). You just upload your best shots in large size and they do all the rest for you (yes, we can add watermark on the photos with just a click).

You can buy my photos in matted prints, canvas, greeting cards, framed prints, Soooo, I am moving my humble photos to Red Bubble and I won't be selling them over Etsy anymore. I don't wanna be traveling to the lab, packing and handling my photos anymore. Yeah, I am that lazy! I must simplify my life as much as I can.

My Redbubble page is taking shape!

Not Long ago...

Is one year too long ago? If you are a new visitor you probably don't know that I have started this blog in 2006. It happened that in September 2007 I got crazy and I deleted one year of posts. Well, I don't regreted it. It had information that today I don't share with the public, so I thought that it was a good thing.

So...there are a lot of things I did not show on this new blog and I went through my files and I just would like to revive some of things I did not long ago...

These were made in 2005 - 2006 when I discovered the craft blogland! It was so contagious, I wanted to create and try new ideas. The lady bug box  was the first item sold on Etsy in 2006. I remember that a man bought it for his sister (for X-mas) and I had an account at Etsy named Desert Blossoms. In fact, Pixie Blossoms was once called Desert Blossoms but I did not really like that name. Plus, I don't live in the desert anymore!

Not Long Ago

The pink bird house is hanging outside. It became a wasp nest...I saw a strange movement of wasps in and out another day and when I looked inside, a wasp nest was built!

Not Long Ago

The canvas with a choo choo train I made for my son. I used acrylic paint and dimensional fabric paint. Believe or not, this canvas disappeared after we moved homes twice! It could be in the garage packed somewhere...our garage is a mess but that is hubby's business!!

The first bag I got sold on Etsy! I was so not confident that I would ever sell something...it was scary and when I got my first positive feedback I knew that I could do some more!

The mobile made of a embroidery hoop. That was too fun to make last year!

Last, the bird mobile I made for my son's room. I used an aspen tree branch, paint, ribbons, beads and those birds we can buy at Michaels. We don't have it anymore because little one was too crazy about it and trying to get the birds for him, pulled it down and the branch cracked in pieces. He said sorry and cried so much...I did not punish my child for that...he did not mean it. He was just too curious and amazed by those colors!!

** Site love: take a look at this...isn't it nice????

It's been more than a week and no posts...I am mad. Crawling the walls! Days are going too fast. Good, but on the other hand I can't get all things done. Blogging is the last thing I will do in hectic times. Being multitasking is hard isn't it?!

I am new!

A trip to Brazil right now is needed, but won't happen. Good news? Yeah...I have good ones! First, both kids are out of the house, in school! Great for them, great for me. Now, starting this week, I have 18 hours or so to enjoy my "me time". Second, I am healthy and I am done with ultrasounds and other stuff. No physical problems and I am thankful! So what is wrong? My mind. I am home sick, I am bored and the body is answering badly to all these feelings. It's been almost 5 years I don't see my parents, brother and friends in Brazil. I am not sad, I mean deeply sad, but there are days that I feel like is the end of the world! These days are really complicated for me.

I am going to change my life style for good. At least I must try. I will walk longer, I am looking for a place to practise yoga, I am eating better and I got some hours for me. I would attend capoeira if they had classes in the mornings. It would be awesome since I like martial arts very much. I've practise judo for many years when I was a teen. I am just not so sure that I could kick and jump like them!!

Little one is so glad to be in preschool! Yesterday was his first day, no cryings at all! He has asked a birthday party (he is 4 years old soon) and lots of kids. Unfortunately I am not able to find lots of friends for him in the neighborhood, I do my best to stay in touch with people, but...I am not sure why, but I think it's the american way of life. People work hard. Private lives. It's only my observation. Whatever is, not much I can do to change social life here...I just feel sorry that in my childhood I had several, tons of kids to play with and my kids don't. Well, they are little right now, hopefully in the future, maybe in another city, in another street...

From Flagstaff to Williams

We usually go out a lot. Last week we just left home to see this beautiful golden field o' flowers and we ended in Williams, a city nearby (30 minutes from here). We stopped at the Deer Farm, and we drove through a side road (parallel to I-40 West). We saw half dozen elks drinking at a pond and a coyote from a distance. The photos you see on this post I took that day.

I think Northern Arizona is truly beautiful at this time of the year...

You see some light changes on my sidebar. I've joined Project Wonderful to place ads on this blog.

I did not forget the give away...I just need some more time to sort things out.

See you again soon!

PS: I found this video this afternoon. Jade Barbosa (Brazil) and Shawn Johnson (USA). You go girls!!!

Pixie Blossoms :: Artful Blogging Magazine

Last week I rushed to the bookstore to get my Artful Blogging Magazine - fall 2008 issue. How can I explaim how I felt about my blog being published? So good. I was always shy to submit anything to a magazine, I did not even know that they take submissions...once I read about it, I decided to drop a message to them with a link to my blog. Some weeks later, Staci invited me to write my story... Many thanks to the editor Staci Dumoski for letting me be part of this great Stampington publication!!

Published!!!

If you don't know, you can be part of one of their publications too. Head to your bookstore and take a look in their new mags...if you are into arts & crafts, it's your chance! Why not?

Thanks to the very nice people that wrote to me after seeing this blog in the mag...it's a pleasure to answer each message!

Tutus by Kennedy and Friends

Hello there! How was your week? Mine was ok, I just had to deal with some health issues that are annoying me for quite sometime, but hopefully it will be taken care soon by a new doctor! I might have a surgery this year...it depends on the next ultrasound test.

Well, not long ago I met a sweet girl from Brazil that discovered my blog through Modish. Nathalie makes the cutest tutus for little fairies and I want to invite you to take a look at her Etsy shop. Aren't them lovely? These tutus are so magical, girls love them all! I think I wanna have a baby girl!! Just kidding!! I have two boys here that are trouble...I am truly amazed by the energy they have! Can you imagine me with one more?

Photos above belong to Nathalie's blog.

See you soon!
