Toys + your name + vintage look photo...
It might be a good idea... Really people, I've been so skeptical. I don't like being like that, but the economy in this great country is worrying me (and everyone else of course)...I've seen and I've noticed things in the streets, in the places I go that I haven't before. We are thinking about moving out of Arizona, perhaps someone with pockets full of money (how odd!) would buy our home ('cause it's in a desirable area) and we could look for a nice foreclosure home in some another State, This way we can lower our mortgage and feel a bit safer! Or not! Because we never know... *** I think I will list some photos like these above in my shop, people could choose names and animals and I shoot it upon request. Yes? Labels: photography
Saturday, September 20, 2008Hoop Hoop HoorayI could not come here earlier to blog once more during the week. I've got the cold. I am better, much better now, but I reserved the time to finish these super delicate embroidery hoops... Yay, the photos are huge!!! I love huge photos on blogs. The bigger the better! These are so spring like...and I just love spring too! This blue/flowered fabric is a vintage find. I've listed four of them in my shop this afternoon and I have 3 more to list tomorrow. I just could not finish taking photos and editing all of them...man, I tell you...I take more than one hour to edit just a dozen of photos!! I am not sure what's gonna be this week, I mean which project I will start...I've been planning to make different things every week and do it all in a batch. At this time I've finished six hoops. I am trying to be organized and more persistent to finish what I start. I have a box full with things that I never have finished. Are you like that too? It's because sometimes that not so nice feeling of "why am I doing all these things?" happens and I won't enter my playroom for several days. So, I am pulling all the fabric wasted, all the pieces that I had cut in the past and taking my time to use whatever I can, instead of buying more stuff. I think I will finally try some collages on canvas. I've been procrastinating to start them. I want something with a vintage look, for kids' room. Colorful, playful...hmmm I am salivating. I will show you my wip next days! My hoops were featured on this blog last week! Pretty cool blog full of craft ideas and showcases ! See you soon! Monday, September 15, 2008Pixie Blossoms Embroidered Hoops :: WIP {work in progress}One of the lots of things I like about blogging is the opportunity to show to my readers and clients the process of my creations. The so called wip or work in progress posts. At least for me visiting other bloggers and seeing their wip photos {once in a while} is always some sort of motivation. I've been working to supply my little shop with sweet items. There are many ideas to use an embroidery hoop as a nice decor for the walls. You probably have seen these all over blogland. Aren't they cute? I came up with the idea of using darling floral fabrics {patchwork} and linen to make some romantic, delicate adorns for the walls. Great for kids room and perfect gift for a mom to be! The embroidery designs are by me. I usually don't have copies of them, because I draw direct on the linen. Sooo, these darlings are totally unique! I made one for my son's teacher with the name of her baby embroidered on linen and it looks too cute. I hope she likes it. I forgot to photograph it today, I will show you next time. I have plans to make speacial patterns for free and for sale. Coming soon! Yes, I've enjoyed the weekend. One step at the time. I've learned that when I make things in a batch, it's faster and rewarding. It was hard to believe in this simple way of making, finishing, completing...but it is true. I've been writing down all the projects I would like for this season, organizing my thoughts. Although fall is by the corner I am still into spring and summer colors. My stash of fabric is being reduced after this {below}. I need a scissors for left handed. I am left handed! I don't use the rotary cutter. I tried. I am better with scissors. I love this one... Next? Well, I think I will have pillows and and a special baby blanket with lovely details on it. These hoops will be listed on next Saturday, September 20th in the afternoon {Arizona time}. See you again very soon during this week...if you would like to make sugestions about anything I could make...just drop your message! Thursday, September 4, 2008County Fair
Last Monday we had some fun at the Coconino County Fair. I like to see the animals. They had cute bunnies for sale and we were tempted to bring one home, but our backyard is not prepared for that...maybe next year!
Antiques!! When I was 6 years old I was not as brave as my son to ride this... "How do you like to go up in a swing, Up in the air so blue? Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing Ever a child can do!" Take me to the moon... Labels: arizona, coconino county fair, flagstaff, photography
