Here is the lucky winner for this book (click on the link to see it): Amanda. Please, I need your address.
I used Random Number Generator to pick one number. At this time I had 13 participants that answered the question correctly. Yes, I am 35 years old. Thanks for those generous souls that said I am 25,26 and 27!!! You guys are awesome!
The first person that left a comment is number one, so Amanda is number 4.
I still have more books to give for free...how lovely, hu?! Come back!
Hey, I am so sorry I did not post this on Sunday...I am a busy bee and also very distracted person. I probably have some sort of attention spam!!
Anyway, here is the book. To enter you must answer one question. Simple and quick. How old am I? No guessing. Again, if you search (files) the first 5 months of this year, you will find a post where I reveal my age, without shame. It's bold and big. Easy peasy!
At this time, if you live outside The US you can participate too. I will mail via First Class Mail, doesn't matter where you live. Deal? Good.
O'Reilly media have donated some books to me and this is the second one I will send to a lucky winner.
Comments won't be published till Monday, November 17th. I will draw one name that same day.
** Edited to add: wrong answer is not valid. Look for my birthday post. If you wanna come back and try it again, it's all right. Comment regarding this giveaway on another post is not valid either. Sorry. I just wanna keep things organized and fair to everyone. Thanks!
Six people left a comment with the right answer. My favorite color is red. Thank you! I used the website below to generate a number between 1 and 6 and Annie was the third person to comment on that particular post.
Annie, I need your address. Send it to blog(at)pixieblossoms.com
As I've promised, I will draw a winner for this book, "The Digital Photography Companion" by Derrick Story, sent to me by O'Reilly media. You can read reviews about the book here.
To enter, you must answer one question. What is my favorite color? Yes, not difficult. If you follow this blog since the beggining you will find the answer. there is one post where I wrote about my favorite color. You can guess, but only the ones that have the right answer will have the chance to get the book. I know a lot of people don't like "giveway homework", but there is Google Alerts to serve people that is only after giveaways in blogland (and nothing else - I am not against that, don't get me wrong) but some of you come here often and read all my blabs and I think it's fair to make it harder.
Another rule is that this contest is open for residents of Canada and USA only. I won't be able to ship to other countries due shipping costs. Sorry.
You have one week to search and drop a comment with the right answer and the country you live in. Start from the beggining and you won't search for very long! Next Saturday, November 8th you we will know the winner.
Have a great Sunday!
* Edited to add: Comments won't show for the public till next week. No cheating!
First, I would like to thank O'Reilly Media and the nice person that works in this company that offered them to me (to me and my readers). Guess what? These books can be yours for free! How cool is that? I will be doing giveaways in the following weeks, so stay tuned. If you would like to learn about Digital Photography reading a great book, it's your chance. I will choose some for me, I did not have time to sit and review all the books, but hopefully this weekend I'll be doing that.
Come back Saturday, November 1st to see the first giveaway post and to enter the contest. At this time I will request some sort of home work from you, it won't be just drop a message and run to participate, because I care about those people that are real visitors to this blog, those that visit often. I will be drawing names every week during November.
In the meantime I am back in my little craft room for some sewing and other creations for the shop before November starts.
This jelly roll was smiling to me on the shelf of a local fabric shop another day. It's Charisma by Chez Moi for Moda. The colors are stunning and so are the patterns! Not sure what I will do with it, but probably covers for the bed side tables and covers for lamp shades. I saw a lamp shade at Anthropologie that have inspired me, but I don't see it anymore on the website.
I would like to make some nice posts with great stuff I find online...handmade and vintage things. Only things I really like. From catalogs, stuff from mags., a nice way to share my tastes on oh well, material things...I will start clipping magazines and send all I don't want to a recycle bin. I just don't have space for so much mags. I love them, because they inspire me a lot, but this year I cut half of them from my list. The list were endless. From Domino to Martha. From Romantic Homes to Country Living. I will choose just a couple that I really like and I will renew subscriptions of these only and all the others will be my company while drinking some coffe at the book store. The one I like the most is Marie Claire Idees. I know, it's french. I don't understand much (although I had french classes when I was in school), but the ideas and photos on it are just gorgeous and truly inspiring. To be honest this year I did not see much great stuff on mags at all.( speacially on crafts, kinda repetitive) I think bloggers out thereare doingthe bestjob ever with great articles and lovely finds. One of the greatest things about them? Don't cost a penny! Ha!
These dutch shoes I found in an antique shop in town. There is only one place I like to go, because all the others the owners look at me like I am going to sneak something into my purse. And if you are leaving their shops without buying anything they don't even say a "have a good day or whatsoever". They just pretend they are not looking, turning their faces the other way when you say buy. Horrible. Plus, they over price everything. This shop I like in particular is on Route 66. The people there is always nice and like to talk, no stress. Sometimes I stop by and I bring something home. I've purchased lots of things for my home there. The dresser for little one's room, the vintage style table and chairs to the kitchen and other small things.
The pinapple doily is a vintage find too. It's going to adorn a cushion...
These branches are for bird swings. My husband was trimming some lower branches of aspens trees beside the house and I asked him to save a few for me. I made a bird swing another day and here is how it looks...
And this was the image that have inspired me, from Marie Claire Idees...
I am thinking about some for the winter season...but how come? I am totally into spring!
And this vintage cloth with a pretty embroidery is also turning into a cushion...it will be in my shop for a short time.
And October has been warm and nice. I hope it will be like that on Friday for Halloween trick- or- treating. Last year was too cold and we could not stand very long outside. We all got costumes. I can't believe my husband is going to dress up at this time!! I chose to be Wednesday Addams (in Brazil she is called Vandinha). I will just wear a black skirt and a black sweater, black and white striped tights and a wig. Simple and fast. Do you doubt that I am going out like that? Haha, it will be dark anyway!
Can warm days like these get extended? Please, we just love it!
I had 53 people participating in this giveaway (post below) and I have counted from the top to the bottom (Mette was the first person to leave a comment and KarenH was the last one by the time I closed the box this afternoon). I have used the Random.org website to pick a number for me...
All right girls, I' ve chose one item for this giveaway: Alice tote bag. I have removed it from my Etsy shop and now it can be yours for free. To participate you must have a valid e-mail address and leave a message on the comment box below.
Ghosts from the past (i.e, not so nice people that I know...blab, blab, blab... ) that have been haunting my blog since forever, won't be able to participate at this time. Sorry you kids, it's not fair with all the nice people, I am sure you will understand!
Yep, this blog is pretty much haunted!!! I am probably very important...ha!
So, here is what I am giving to one lucky person...
Regarding the last post...yes I can commemorate. This is being the greatest month! No pain, not migraines, no mood swings and I am feeling totally refreshed! Thanks for all that have shared some experiences!!
*** My Etsy shop is empty because something new is about to happen!!!! Stay tuned!!!!
